About Us
Coastal Connection Studio was created from a simple belief:
People thrive when they feel connected.
After more than 20 years leading marketing teams and working with organizations ranging from growing businesses to Fortune 500 companies, I saw firsthand that even the best strategy, biggest budget or strongest ideas could only take a team so far.
Something deeper mattered. Culture. Connection. A shared sense of purpose.
I experienced workplaces where people felt engaged, valued and genuinely connected to one another — and others where frustration, fear, lack of clarity and disconnection made even great work feel difficult.
Some of my favorite memories from my career aren't tied to a campaign or business result.
They're memories of being part of teams where people genuinely enjoyed working together, believed in what they were building and felt like they belonged.
Then the world of work changed. After COVID, teams became more
distributed. Offices became home offices. Coworkers who once shared everyday moments together were suddenly separated by screens, cities and sometimes countries. The way we worked changed dramatically. But our need for human connection didn't.
And the workplace continues to evolve.
Artificial intelligence is transforming how organizations operate, creating incredible opportunities to work smarter, move faster and rethink what's possible. At the same time, many teams are navigating changing roles, tighter resources and growing expectations to accomplish more.
In a world becoming increasingly efficient and increasingly digital, it's easy for the human side of work to become an afterthought.
But efficiency can't replace belonging. Technology can't replace trust. And innovation doesn't eliminate our need for meaningful human connection.
If anything, the more our work changes, the more intentional we need to be about creating cultures where people feel connected, engaged and valued.
Technology may change how we work.
It doesn't change what we need as people.
Rediscovering Creativity
Around the same time, life was teaching me something personally. After nearly 18 years of raising a family, building a career and spending much of my life taking care of what needed to be done, I was challenged to make space for something I had slowly lost touch with: myself.
I started thinking about the things that had always brought me joy. And one answer kept coming back. I loved to create.
Painting. Decorating. Mosaics. Craft projects. Learning new techniques. Wandering through the aisles of an art store imagining what I could make next. So I started making time for it again.
I took classes. I experimented. I painted. I learned. I made things simply because creating them made me happy.
And something unexpected happened. The more I gave myself permission to stop and create, the more energized, curious and inspired I became.
Eventually, I started sharing what I was learning with others. And I began to see a connection between what I had experienced personally and what I had witnessed throughout my career.
Sometimes we need to step away from what we're producing long enough to reconnect with ourselves and with the people around us.
Why the Coast?
I naturally found myself painting the ocean. Growing up just minutes from the beach, the coast has always represented something much bigger to me than a place.
It's where some of my happiest memories were made. It's where I've celebrated with family, vacationed, laughed, dreamed and sometimes simply sat quietly when life felt heavy.
The coast reminds me to slow down. To breathe. To notice. To reconnect. And eventually, the pieces came together.
Stop. Connect. Create. Coastal Connection Studio was born.
More Than an Event
We don't believe meaningful connection is something you can check off a list.
A team-building event can be fun. An employee appreciation day can make people feel valued. A creative experience can give coworkers a chance to laugh together and see one another differently.
But one event doesn't create a culture.
Culture is cultivated.
It's built in the moments people share, the relationships they develop and the intentional ways an organization continues to bring its people together. That's the philosophy behind Coastal Connection Studio.
We create experiences that give people permission to step away from their everyday roles, slow down, engage a different part of themselves and genuinely enjoy being together. Creativity simply gives us a different way to get there.
Because as our workplaces become more digital, distributed and technology-driven, we believe opportunities for real human connection become even more important — not less.
We're not here to help organizations check the team building box once a year. We're here to help cultivate a culture where connection has room to grow.
